# AI Game Developer v0.25.5 — Extensions now work in open chats, Packages fills the window with avatars

Claude Plugins and MCP servers now apply to the chat you already have open. Packages expands to a full-window workspace with avatars, and usage is shown only as percentages.

### Claude Plugins and MCP apply to open chats

Installing a Claude plugin or adding an MCP server now refreshes the composer command list and applies the new tools to the next message in the same session, without restarting the chat. Queued messages keep their order and history, and disabling an extension removes it on the next turn. (#804)

### Full-window Packages with avatars and shared scrollbar fade

Packages now fills the app below the titlebar with resizable workbench panels, and packages can show PNG, SVG, or short text avatars, including official artwork for first-party packages. A shared scrollbar fade spans chat, dock rails, and package webviews, and a configurable contrast audit checks all six themes. (#805)

### Desktop MCP and plugin connections work through Settings

Testing an MCP server now performs a real handshake and tool discovery, and installing a plugin refreshes the configuration for new chats. Settings supports direct GitHub installation and pasted folder paths, explains marketplaces, searches their catalogs, and marks installed entries. Saving an MCP server shows progress and prevents a concurrent connection test. (#802)

### Usage and allowances displayed only as percentages

The account usage panel shows consumed usage as a percentage and the allowance as 100%, along with the reset date and progress bar. Monetary spending, balance, and ceiling rows are removed from the profile menu, session cost from the model card, and currency amounts from usage history, while receipts are preserved. (#803)

### Free AI activation shows before model routing

A new Free account without a billing address now sees the card-verification offer instead of a region error, and a fresh install can select a default model. Cached hints are ignored, and the panel clears after activation. (#806)

### Package avatars keep their square frame

Package images no longer stretch into rectangles when a wide or tall picture is used. Avatars now stay square in both the package list and the detail panel while the image itself keeps its original proportions. (#807)
